Yamaha Contract Lorenzo Until 2012

23-year-old Lorenzo, who joined Yamaha in 2008, has won an impressive seven races so far this season and is on target to take his first premier-class crown. He currently leads the standings by 56 points with five rounds remaining. Yamaha Motor Co. Ltd is delighted to announce that it has reached an agreement with Jorge Lorenzo whereby the Spaniard will remain with the factory for the next two years. Managing Director of Yamaha Motor Racing Lin Jarvis said, "we are extremely happy that we have reached an agreement with Jorge to remain a Factory Yamaha rider for 2011 and 2012. Steven Frossard Career Highlights

Frossard has been one of the main protagonists in the MX2-GP series for the last three seasons and has been a regular face on the podium as one of the fastest men in the competition. Hailing from Marseille, Frossard claimed his first grand prix victory in 2010 and picked up five other trophies on his way to third in the final classification. “It is great to be joining a team like Yamaha Monster Energy MX in my first season in the MX1-GP class,” said Frossard, who expects to start riding at the end of October. “When someone like Michele Rinaldi and his crew show an interest in you then it is a big compliment because the amount of titles they have speaks for itself. Yamaha R1, Josh Hayes wrapped up AMA

Josh Hayes Team Graves Yamaha rider Josh Hayes wrapped up the AMA (American Motorcycle Association) Superbike championship on his Yamaha R1 at the Barber Motosports Park in the USA on Sunday. The win, which was Hayes’ first career championship victory, is also the first victory for Yamaha in the American premier road racing class since 1991 when Thomas Stevens took the win. The championship came down to the wire with Hayes needing a second in the first race and a top eight finish in the second to secure the title, beating rival Tommy Hayden by 12 points in the final standings.
